Of course! Sometimes something arises in life that you want to talk about with a counselor and a one-time session may be all you need. If you’re seeking more long term counseling, keep in mind that your first appointment gives you a chance to see if we work well together. Then you can decide if you want to return for regular appointments.
Through counseling, we work together to uncover and address core issues beneath relationship challenges, such as petty arguing. Perhaps you’ve been shoving things under the rug for a while! If this is the case, you’ll learn how to communicate so that your partner will correctly hear what you’re saying, and vice versa. You’ll also learn to recognize and accept one another’s differences. You’ll learn your love languages, as well as those of your partner, so you can better understand how to help one another feel loved. Relationships take work, are you ready to recommit to yours?
Some people feel this way and that’s okay. However, life can be challenging and sometime it’s best to work with an objective therapist. Reaching out is not a weakness! It’s a strength. People who choose to go to counseling are generally healthier because they want something better for themselves and are willing to work hard to improve their quality of life.
