CALIFORNIA ONLINE couples THERAPY & MARRIAGE counseling
Rediscover the strength of your relationship or marriage and make it stronger than ever in a safe and supportive space.
–California Licensed Couples Therapist & Marriage Counselor Ilissa Banhazl is here for you.
As a Glendora, California Licensed Therapist, I began my Marriage and Family Psychotherapy practice out of a desire to use my life experience, education, and passion to help serve the health needs of my community and the surrounding cities.
“Through my experience in a variety of settings, I have discovered that building a supportive relationship through therapy creates a safe place to explore life struggles, understand difficult issues, learn new skills, enrich relationships, and work through situations in order to lead a more authentic life.
Creating a safe and supportive environment, where you can feel comfortable, is essential to my practice. In that setting, I can collaborate on how best to understand your situation, identify your goals, and find solutions.” –Ilissa Banhazl, MFT
I bring a varied theoretical approach, centered on forms of therapy including psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral, brief/solution focused, and ensuring sensitivity to cultural diversity.
Life is often filled with challenges which affect each of us in different ways. I believe that how we approach and overcome those challenges, help to shape us and allow us to experience life to the fullest.
“I base my practice on building a safe and supportive relationship with my clients. I believe a client can only grow if a counselor is genuine and builds a connection with their client.” –Ilissa Banzahl, M.S., M.F.T.
My primary area of expertise is Marriage/Couples & Premarital Counseling and my Services include virtual relationship counseling for couples and marriage counseling.
TESTIMONIALS
“I have known Ilissa as a friend and as a colleague for many years (having worked as a life coach).
I know her to be very passionate and devoted in her work as a therapist, with a speciality in eating disorders. For Ilissa I must say it seems more appropriate to call her work a calling.
Her insight comes from a very personal place inside her, and it guides her to heal her clients, in a knowing, empathetic and compassionate way.
I consider the richness of her relationship with her husband and children a testament to who she is and what she can bring to a therapeutic relationship. I recommend Ilissa wholeheartedly.” –Bob I.
